LISBON: The latest partial strike by air traffic controllers in Portugal disrupted flights on Thursday, with around 500 flights to be affected over two days, the airports authority ANA said.
Some 200 flights were expected to be disrupted on Thursday and 311 on Friday during the strike that will see controllers stop working for two-hour shifts three times each day, it said.
The stoppages are expected between 0600-0800 GMT, 1300-1500 GMT and 2000-2200 GMT.
It marked the fourth such strike in a month, with previous actions having taken place on May 11, 17 and 18. The controllers also staged five days of partial strikes in April.
The air traffic controllers are protesting at the restructuring of services and budget reductions in the recession-wracked country.
