54 new Covid-19 cases detected: Murad pays tribute to Dr Soomro for sacrificing life in the line of duty

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Dr Abdul Qadir Soomro who sacrificed his life while helping the COVID-19 patients get better.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Dr Abdul Qadir Soomro who sacrificed his life while helping the COVID-19 patients get better.
Dr Soomro contracted the coronavirus on March 28 when he was dealing with COVID-19 patients. He was admitted to the hospital on March 31 where he died on Monday.
In his condolence message to Dr Soomro's family and colleagues, the chief minister said that Dr Soomro sacrificed his life but saved the lives of a large number of patients.
This he said in his video message released from the CM House on Tuesday. Shah said that the doctors were in the frontline in the fight against COVID-19. Their services and those of the paramedical staff were commendable. "I salute the doctors for their selfless service for this cause," he said.
Meanwhile, Syed Murad Ali Shah said that 634 coronavirus tests were conducted on Tuesday. Out of those tests, 54 people tested positive, taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the provinces to 986. The break-up of those 986 cases was 159 in Hyderabad, two in Jamshoro, one in Badin, 12 in Tando Mohammad Khan, one in Sujawal, one in Dadu, seven in Shaheed Benazirabad, one in Sanghar, four in Naushehroferoze, 274 in Sukkur, two in Ghotki, 13 in Larkana, one in Jacobabad, 159 in Karachi East, 66 in Karachi West, 110 South, 93 Central, 44 Malir and 36 in Korangi.
He said that 253 COVID-19 patients recovered on Monday and 16 on Tuesday. Thus the number of the patients recovered so far was 269. He said the response of the government was very prompt.
The Sindh government has established 12 isolation centers across the province while district rapid response committees had been already established.
The chief minister once again urged the people to stay at home, and even at homes people had to maintain social distancing i.e. they should stay at a distance from the children and the elderly people particularly those who were asthma and cardiac patients.
