Pakistan releases over Rs21bn DLTL refunds for industries amid COVID-19
- DLTL refunds of Rs20.5 billion for textiles and Rs0.828 billion for the non-textile sector have been released by the Ministry of Commerce.
In order to facilitate industries in the times of coronavirus pandemic, the ministry of commerce has released over Rs21 billion for the textile and non-textile sector in the drawback of local taxes and levy (DLTL) refunds.
The announcement was made by Adviser to Prime Minister for Commerce and Textile, Abdul Razak Dawood on Friday in a tweet post. “I am pleased to announce that DLTL refunds of Rs20.5 billion for textiles and Rs0.828 billion for the non-textile sector have been released by the Ministry of Commerce.”
“I hope that our businessmen will now use this liquidity to look after their workers during these challenging times,” Dawood added.

Earlier, Dawood said that the government had offered up to Rs100 billion packages to the industrial sector as support following the current challenging situation, created due to COVID- 19 pandemic.
“We are continuously in contact with all major industrial sectors, including textiles and construction. With consultation of all stakeholders, the government would give incentive to the priority areas of the industrial sector for revival in the current critical situation," Razak Dawood said.
