Aleem Khan gets food ministry in Punjab
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday allotted the portfolio of food department to Abdul Aleem Khan, who was re-inducted in the provincial cabinet. Besides he has also been designated as senior minister of the provincial cabinet, says a notification issued by the Services & General Administration Department on Tuesday. The food department Punjab was working without a minister as Sami Ullah Chaudhry had resigned from his office after an FIA report on flour and sugar scandal was made public by the government.
Political circles are terming his appointment as a challenging task as wheat procurement campaign 2020 is in the progress while his predecessor resigned due to alleged failure of carrying out reforms in the food department.
