US stands with Pakistan in fight against coronavirus: US ambassador

(Karachi) US Ambassador to Islamabad Paul W. Jones has said that the United States stands with Pakistan and will provide support in fight against the deadly coronavirus.
In a letter to Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, Jones said, "Together we can stop the spread of this deadly disease to protect our loved ones and regain our prosperity and freedom."
The letter added, "The US is a leading supporter of debt relief and other exceptional measures agreed on by G20 nations, which will provide substantial relief to Pakistan."
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif replied to the US Ambassador's letter saying the COVID-19 knows no borders and has wreaked havoc across the world.
He said, "A failure to deal with the scourge collectively has consequences. The situation is ripe for the US to take a leadership in the fight against Covid-19."
"We are deeply grateful for all the assistance and cooperation the US is providing to Pakistan to effectively fight the virus."
