In continuation of earlier relief measures announced on account of the COVID-19 crisis, K-Electric (KE) has announced that all single-phase residential customers, utilizing up to 300 units, can now pay their electricity bills for March, April and May respectively in three equal monthly installments payable till November 2020. The distribution of these bills is already underway and they can also be accessed via SMS and on the K-Electric website www.ke.com.pk.

This relief has been announced in line with the "PM relief for COVID-19" and is meant to facilitate customers during this critical situation and mitigate their financial burden especially with the onset of Ramazan in just a few days. This move follows the provision of uninterrupted power supply across the city and the deferred due dates for bill payments and indicate that KE remains committed to standing by Karachi during this crisis.

To comply with COVID-19 recommendations customers are advised to avoid physically visiting banks for bill payments. To facilitate customers, KE has ensured the availability of alternate payment portals including mobile banking, Easy Paisa, Jazz Cash or ATMs. A complete list of e-payment solutions is also available at the KE website. In case of any queries, customers can conveniently get in touch with KE via its website or the 24/7 helpline at 118.

The power utility is committed to standing by Karachi and its foremost priority at this point in time is to ensure uninterrupted power supply to its over 2.8 million customers. KE appeals to consumers to ensure timely payment of electricity bills as this will go towards managing operational costs including fuel payments. Both of these underpin continuity of power supply, which has become even more critical in the fight against COVID-19.
