The federal government has released Rs533.33 billion (76.1 percent) including Rs102.7 billion foreign aid (80.12 percent) for various ongoing and new development projects under the Public-Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2019-20 against the total budgeted allocation of Rs701 billion.

According to the latest data of the PSDP 2019-2020 released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special initiatives, the government released Rs230.3 billion (75.42 per cent) including Rs13.41 billion (46.4 percent) foreign aid for development projects of various ministries, divisions and related departments out of Rs305.36 billion budgeted allocation.

The ministry also released a total of Rs175.66 billion (89.57 per cent) including Rs84.11 billion (92.85 per cent) foreign aid out of Rs90.59 billion for development budget of corporations; Rs154.94 billion including Rs69 billion foreign aid for the projects of the National Highways Authority (NHA); and Rs20 billion including Rs15 billion foreign aid for the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC)/Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco).

The government released a total of Rs43.46 billion (94 percent) including Rs4.45 billion foreign aid out of Rs44.54 billion budgeted allocation for development projects of special areas; Rs26.9 billion including Rs3.18 billion foreign aid for development projects of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK); and Rs16.54 billion including Rs1.266 billion foreign aid for the Gilgit-Baltistan for the financial year 2019-2020.

The government released Rs8.38 billion including Rs1.2 billion foreign aid out of Rs11.25 billion for development projects of the National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Division.

A total of Rs30.18 billion out of Rs46.99 billion has been released for the Cabinet Division. The government released a total of Rs7.54 billion out of Rs7.5 billion for development projects of Climate Change Division, Rs1.5 billion for Defence Production Division, Rs3.67 billion for development projects of the Federal Education and Professional Training Division, and Rs7.6 billion for the Finance Division.
