The district administration has started smart lockdown in the capital and sealed only 10 streets of Sector I-10/1 and I-10/4 following opening the all other sectors.

According to a notification issued by the deputy commissioner (DC) in partial modification of the earlier order of April 29, issued from this office after input by epidemiologists and after analysis of cluster confirmed Covid-19 cases reported from Sector I-10/4, the sealing order is limited to following areas/streets of I-10/4, in exercise of power conferred under Epidemic Diseases Act, 1958, in large public interest and to prevent further spread of the Covid-19 in other streets including two streets in Sector I-10/4 (Street no 31-A and 31-C) as well as in Sector I-10/1 streets No 66, 67, 71, 900, and Umer Shopping Centre I-10/1.

Moreover, the police, Rangers and Pakistan Army are requested to cordon off above mentioned areas to ensure safety of the public.

As many as 50 cases of coronavirus have been reported from I-10/1 and I-10/4.

Last week, the administration sealed both sub-sectors entirely because of the prevalence of Covid-19.

According to officials, Covid-19 has been spread in most of the urban and rural areas of the city including various residential sectors including G-series, F-series I-8 series, as well as rural areas including Bhara Kahu, Tarlai, Shah Allah Ditta, Sohan, Kirpa, Khana Pul, Koral, Model Town, Humak, Pindbewal, Rawal Town, and Sihala.

Meanwhile, the district administration continued disinfection sprays as well as awareness campaigns in various parts of the city. Admin teams also seen checking prices and imposed fine against higher prices of food items especially fruit and vegetables.
