Minister of State for Narcotic Control Shehryar Afridi announced on Saturday that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
In a tweet, the minister said he has isolated himself at home as per the doctor's advice. "I need prayers and blessings. May Allah almighty help save all my countrymen from the pandemic under my Prime Minister Imran Khan," Afridi tweeted.

The minister is the latest politicians to have contracted the virus. National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and several sitting MPAs and MNAs tested positive for the virus.
