altaf-bhaiISLAMABAD: Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain on Tuesday telephoned Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) senior leader Ch Parvez Elahi and extended heartiest felicitations to him and PML-Q President Senator Ch Shujaat Hussain on his assuming the office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

Throughout the day on Tuesday, the Chaudhry brothers received congratulatory messages and telephone calls from leaders of different political parties and prominent people from all walks of life as ministers, parliamentarians, party leaders and workers from all over the country and abroad.

Prominent Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leaders Syed Khurshid Shah, Makhdoom Amin Faheem and others also phoned the Chaudhrys and congratulated them on achievement.

Meanwhile, a large number of people kept visiting the residence of Ch Parvez Elahi throughout the day and extending their heartfelt felicitations to him as well as Ch Shujaat Hussain and Moonis Elahi and presenting them.

Talking to people gathered to felicitate Elahi, Ch Parvez Elahi said that the PML ministers would ensure service to the people and all possible steps would be taken to solve the problems of the workers, youth and women.

"We are aware of the problems and difficulties of people, have extended cooperation to the govt for providing relief to the people and ending electricity load shedding crisis is our top priority".

"We have joined the govt keeping in view the interests of the people and the country. In our Parliamentary Party meeting, it was made clear to Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf that firstly all necessary and effective steps would have to be taken to overcome energy crisis," he added.

He said his party believed in politics of serving the masses and the Muslim Leaguer Ministers would take steps on priority basis to ensure service to the people.

Ch Parvez Elahi emphasized on the party leaders, workers and Youth Wing to utilize all their energies for making Muslim League strong, active, effective party.

He said that revolutionary steps would be taken for solving the people's problems. He said that doors of the party leadership would remain open always for solving the problems of the workers.

Party leaders and workers assured him their full cooperation and expressed the confidence that his leadership would help in further strengthening of the institutions.
