Pakistan-national-assemblyISLAMABAD: Members National Assembly on Tuesday demanded the government to work out serious and sustainable solution to Balochistan problems for restoring lasting peace and harmony in the province.

Members from both the treasury and opposition benches on points of order also stressed the government to address the decades old problems of the Baloch people especially ensuring security for the people and take action to stop disappearances.

MNA Usman Advocate drew the attention of the House towards poor law and order situation and said, after insecurity highways now even sleeping at one's own home has become risky for the ordinary citizens.

He questioned the government about the action it was taking for improvement of law and order situation in the province as he voiced to oppose a bill aimed at giving security agencies more powers as well as the dual nationality bill.

He said Chief Secretary Balochistan has also admitted before the Supreme Court about failure of the provincial administration in maintaining law and order.

MNA Abdul Qadir Baloch also drew attention of the House and the government towards gravity of Balochistan situation. "We need to ponder seriously whether all this was being done under a certain plan. Is all this being done to wrap up the system."

MNA Naseer Bhutta claimed that around 600 people had gone missing and the government should play its role for their recovery.

He said when this issue comes before the Supreme Court, the agencies submit figures of those killed and those recovered. "Even this is not informed as to under which law these persons are picked up or arrested or interrogated."

He demanded from the government to console the families of missing persons and make sincere efforts to dispense its duties regarding protection of human lives and property.
