Priyanka on Bansali’s radar for ‘Gujju Juilet’

KARACHI: There has been buzz doing the rounds that Deepika Padukone is keen to carry the role of Juliet in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Ram Leela”.

According to media sources, after positive review of “Cocktail”, Padukone is insistent on making her way into the Bhansali’s camp. The actress has been sending feelers to Bhansali that she wants to take up the role of ‘Gujju Juliet’.

Source closed to the project said, "Priyanka was all but finalized for Ram Leela. Bhansali and PeeCee were in constant touch though she's abroad working on her international music album. In fact, even her clothes were finalized. And now Deepika has in her petition for the modern day Juliet, even though she was never on Bhansali's radar."

Sources added that Bhansali is impressed by the performance of Padukone in her recent release “Cocktail”.

If Padukone gets the role of Juliet this will be the third project that she would have taken away from Kareena Kapoor after “Chennai Express” and Ekta Kapoor-Karan Johar untitled film.

Now the race is between Priyanka Chopra and Padukone.
