KARACHI: Usher's stepson Kile Glover, 11, has died in hospital, two weeks after suffering severe injuries in a boating accident on a Georgia lake.
Glover was riding on an inner tube with a 15-year-old family friend when a watercraft
crashed into them, according to a report from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
Kile suffered a serious head injury and was quickly flown by helicopter to Children’s Healthcare at Egleston in Atlanta.
The media reports the young boy, whose mother is Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster, was taken
off life support by doctors, who determined that he would not recover from his injuries.
Foster is said to have grappled with the difficult decision to disconnect the life support,
and is said to be understandably “devastated”, as per media reports.
Jeffrey Hubbard, 38, was driving the watercraft; investigators concluded that alcohol was
not involved in the incident.
Following news of his son’s death, Usher received Twitter messages of condolences from the
likes of Toni Braxton, who wrote,
“My heart and prayers are with Tameka [and] Usher and their families. I’m sorry for your
loss; I’m here for both of you. From my family to your.”
Justin Bieber simply tweeted, “Rip Kile”.
