KARACHI: Brazilian Felipe Kitadai dented his bronze medal which he won in the 60-kilogram judo competition.
According to media sources, Kitadai who was extremely happy with his bronze success celebrated his victory by taking the medal everywhere, even in shower.
In order to keep medal away from water he bit it between his teeth. Accidentally, the purple strap snapped and caused the bronze coin to crash to the ground which resulted with a small dent.
After this incident Brazilian Olympic Committee requested for a new medal.
Sources added that although IOC had no obligations to repair the dented one but still IOC vowed to give him one by saying that the medal only contains $4.71 worth of metal.
