KARACHI: Aamir Khan buys things worth Rs2.38 lakh in Bollywood memorabilia auction. Money might not get you everything, but it can definitely bring you the owning power, even if it is memories.
According to reports, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan went on to spend as much as Rs88,000 for former times legendry star Shammi Kapoor’s Jacket. As a part of the current 12th Osian’s-Cinefan Film Festival in Delhi, an auction of Bollywood items was held on Tuesday.
In what can be called as an exceptional Bollywood memorabilia, the auction had a jacket and a scarf that Shammi Kapoor sported in Junglee, a sweater that he wore in Andazand his pictures.
Reports suggest Bollywood’s “Mr. Perfectionist” Aamir Khan bought the famous Junglee jacket and five other things for Rs2.38 lakh.
The auction offered vintage and rare posters, show-cards, stills, song-synopsis booklets among other artifacts. The highlights were 45 signed black and white photographic stills by the evergreen Dev Anand; rare Satyajit Ray designed film posters of the 1960s; the turquoise ring set in silver worn by Farooque Sheikh in Muzaffar Ali’s famous Umrao Jaan; a cricket bat signed by Aamir Khan and the team from Lagaan.
Founder Chairman, Osian’s Neville Tuli said, "The auction emphatically indicated that an enormous potential exists for developing the market for Indian cinema memorabilia, and that the film fraternity now feels a sense of respect for its cinematic heritage.”
