KARACHI: American swimmer Michael Phelps is worried about getting out of shape after his retirement.
According to media sources, Phelps, who has planned to tour the world and to improve his golf games, post retirement is concerned about his daily diet.
Speaking to media Phelps said, "One of the things I want to do is I'm not going to let myself get out of shape like I did in 2009. I gained like 25 pounds in six months. We're going to try not to go down that road this time around."
Sources said that the 18-time gold medalist took a break from training after 2008 Beijing Olympics and had put on much weight that one website ran his shirtless photo with a caption, “Where are the abs?”
Sources added that after 2009, Phelps commence with his swimming in order to reach Olympics 2012 in full potential.
Phelps added that he will find out other incentives in order to be in shape after retirement.
