David Beckham pays gratitude to troops for Olympics security
KARACHI: David Beckham has thanked British troops for their 2012 London Olympics security work.
The soccer star stopped at the vehicle search area on the edge of Olympic Park to show his gratitude to servicemen.
He remarked the security workers who have been protecting athletes and spectators during the
past few weeks.
He met soldiers and offered his thanks for the “incredible” job they have done in keeping
everyone safe.
“They’re doing an incredible job. What they’ve done so far. They’re keeping everyone calm and letting people enjoy the Games,” Olympics ambassador Beckham said of the soldiers.
“People have been coming from all over the world and being kept safe by these guys, it’s
special,” he added.
Beckham was seen on visit with his sons Cruz, Romeo and Brooklyn but dodged questions about the rumored Spice Girls performance during the closing ceremony.
The plan for the closing ceremony performance by Victoria Beckham, 38, Geri Halliwell, 40,
Emma Bunton, 36, Melanie Brown, 37, and Melanie Chisholm, 38, was unveiled when they were
pictured practicing their moves at a secret rehearsal.
More than 20 pop and rock legends are said to be performing 30 British songs at the show.
