Lata Mangeshkar launches new album of bhajans

KARACHI: Indian singing legend Lata Mangeshkar recently launched her own music label LM Music with an album of bhajans dedicated to Swami Samarth of Akkalkot.
Lata Mangeshkar and her sister Usha Mangeshkar sang for the new album, the music of which has been composed by a young musician Mayuresh Pai.
The album was due to be launched on November 18 in a splendid way, but the lavish launch party was indefinitely postponed after Shiv Sena leader Balasaheb Thackeray's death.
The two sisters, with their magical voices have given a number of hits in the past like “Apalam Chaplam” (Azad), “Kis Kaaran Kamini Sharmaye” (Chandan Ka Palna) and “Bahe Jaiye Na Rani” (Sabse Bara Rupaiya).
Lata Mangeshkar has recorded around 25,000 solo, duet and chorus-backed songs in 20 Indian languages and she was featured in the Guinness Book of World Records from 1974 to 1991.
Lata Mangeshkar, at age 83, is still following her passion of singing and coming up with new albums, setting an example for young and upcoming singers.
