LAHORE: NAB Punjab Director General Khurshid Anwar Bhinder has said corruption can be eliminated from the society by implementing Islamic teachings and principles.
Addressing a declamation contest on international anti- corruption day at the Alhamrah Hall-II on Sunday, he said national institutes were utilising all possible resources to eradicate corruption from the country.
He said the institutions like NAB, FIA and Anti- corruption Establishment were playing their role effectively to end corruption from the country. He added the media could also play its role to create awareness among people about ills of corruption.
"The NAB have recovered billions of rupees from different cases of corruption, including Double Shah case, and distributed huge amount among the affected, he added.
The DG said "Corruption can be eliminated through self-accountability and it is our responsibility to work against these kinds of social evils.
Later, a walk was also held, led by the DG NAB, from the Alhamrah Arts Council to the Punjab Assembly to create awareness among people against corruption.
