ACCRA: Ghana's cocoa purchases reached 315,709 tonnes by November 29 since the season started, down 23.4 percent compared with the same period last year, data from industry regulator Cocobod showed on Thursday.
Total purchases for the week, the seventh since the 2012/13 season began on October 12, were 36,360 tonnes, almost the same as the 36,828 tonnes declared in the week before.
Ghana, the world's second-largest cocoa grower after Ivory Coast, has projected a harvest of around 800,000 tonnes this season.
