PESHAWAR: Adviser to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on information and Public Relations, Ajmal Khan Wazir Monday said complete transparency of corona cases as per World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines was being ensured and shared with public on daily basis.

Briefing media at Civil Secretariat here, he said that recovery rate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was also higher than the rest of the provinces which was 31pc.

The Adviser said that in just two months before the lockdown, more than 81,000 passengers from various Gulf countries had arrived at Bacha Khan International Airport.

Similarly, through Taftan and Torkham borders, migrants have returned to their home who were kept in various quarantine centers.

Ajmal Wazir said that immediately after the outbreak of corona, our testing capacity was only 20 which has now been increased from 2200 to 2300, and this number would further be increased.

He said that health system of developed countries had failed against corona, but our doctors and paramedical staff were fighting successfully against corona despite limited resources.

"We are proud of our doctors, paramedics’ staff and all front liners of corona and the whole nation salute them. Dr Aurangzeb and Dr Azam sacrifices their lives for the nation, the sacrifices of doctors and medical staff against corona will not be in vain,” he added.

Regarding Overseas Pakistanis, Ajmal Wazir said that “overseas Pakistanis are our asset and they will not be left alone in this need of hour, the solution of all their problems is among the priorities of the government,” Ajmal added.

He said that he had recently visited Peshawar Airport on the special instructions of the Chief Minister and reviewed the arrangements.

Ajmal Wazir said there was no shortage of ventilators and beds in the hospitals of the province, which I had discussed in detail.

Opposition should avoid baseless criticism.

Ajmal Wazir once again appealed to the people to ensure implementation of SOPs as this was the only way to protect ourselves from coronavirus.
