CHICAGO: Chicago Board of Trade soyabean futures closed steady to higher on Friday as a pickup in export demand this week offset pressure from a firmer US dollar and optimal US crop weather, traders said.
CBOT July soyabeans settled unchanged at $8.67-3/4 per bushel after trading as high as $8.73-1/2, the contract's highest since April 13. Deferred contracts closed a few cents higher.
For the week, the July contract rose 27 cents per bushel or 3.2%, the biggest weekly climb for a most-active soyabean contract in eight months, since early October.
