'Who is she and why is she here?'

LETTER: This is apropos a Business Recorder Editorial "Who is she and why is she here?" carried by the newspaper yesterday. The newspaper has concluded its argument by stating that "So who is playing games with whom? Is Cynthia Ritchie a foreign agent deliberately allowed to stay on? Or is it a simple case of an American citizen who is off her rocker, and whose last known job in the home country was that of an officer in a company offering janitorial services, making up all sorts of stories to seek attention? It is about time somebody explained why she is here unless there is some wisdom in ignoring her."

There is growing perception in the country that some covert but influential foreign organisation is responsible for this event or the situation is the result of a secret plan made by powerful people abroad. But the PPP leadership - Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto - need to come out strongly to rebut or counter the allegations that Ritchie has heaped on Malik and Gilani as well although the duo has filed damages against her.
