Coronavirus: Further 107 deaths reported in 24 hours across country

(Karachi) At least 107 people lost their lives due to coronavirus during 24 hours taking the death toll across the country to 2,463, media reported on Friday.

The highest number of cases have been reported in Sindh with 46,828 cases followed by Punjab with 45,463 corona patients. Similarly, 15,787 cases surfaced in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 7,673 in Balochistan, 6,236 in Islamabad, 1,018 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 488 coronavirus cases in Azad and Jammu Kashmir.
Coronavirus cases are on the rise in Pakistan and it is feared that the virus will be at its peak in July. The government eased lockdown and restrictions to support economy that led to an alarming increase in number of Covid-19 cases in the country.
On June 11, Prime Minister Imran Khan warned the people and and business community of taking a strict action for violating the standard operations procedures (SOPs) issued by the government to stem the spread of Covid-19.
The PM said he would personally monitor the implementation of the SOPs and receive daily report from the provinces on coronavirus situation.
He said all the workplaces and localities would be closed down if found spreading the deadly virus risking the people’s lives.
