Sony unveils highly anticipated PS5
Sony has finally unveiled the first official look of their highly anticipated gaming console the PlayStation 5 (PS5).
The gaming console will be available in two different models – PS5 and the PS5 digital edition – , which are expected to hit the market this Christmas.
The sleek white console with a black trim is tall and appears to be thinner than the Xbox Series X. A media remote control and headphones will be available as accessories. However the pricing of the models are yet to be announced.
The majority of the two-hour stream was dedicated to flaunting Sony’s new capabilities in game design and new titles, whilst the final three minutes showed off the long anticipated design.
The digital edition appears to be the same console as the regular edition, all without a disk-tray. This would mean that players would download their games digitally from the PlayStation Store and would not require a disk to run a game.
Sony were tight-lipped about some more lucrative features on the PS5, but did reveal some.
Some of the new features includes 4K Ultra HD Blu Ray, ultra-high speed SSD, ray tracing, haptic controller feedback, adaptive triggers and 3D audio.
