ARTICLE: Delusions of grandeur!

"Khawaja Asif says the two economic team leaders appointed by The Khan should be placed on the Exit Control List (ECL)."

"I have two observations."

"You seem to be suffering from delusions of grandeur."

"What did I say?!"

"Observations, indeed; what are you? A Justice of the Supreme Court!?"

"I don't even have a law degree, and speaking of a law degree we don't have any Minister for Law and Justice at present."

"So?"

"So why doesn't The Khan appoint someone in the interim period - till Farogh Naseem returns to take over the position he has by now vacated twice."

"Ha, ha, its three times a lady you know."

"Indeed, anyway who do you reckon The Khan should appoint for the interim period?"

"I would recommend The Buzz."

"You just want to get rid of The Buzz but..."

"No I reckon that would mean The Khan would have his cake and eat it too."

"What do you mean?"

"Spiritual guidance, The Khan has been informed, dictates that he keeps The Buzz on in his government; but by bringing him into the federal cabinet which is a promotion he would be able to appoint someone more shall we say..."

"Not many consider a federal ministry a promotion from the chief ministership. Anyway you are wrong: the guidance is specific, The Buzz must remain where he is."

"The Buzz has a law degree, maybe not as fancy as that of Farogh Naseem and maybe he has not represented notables in the court like Farogh Naseem but..."

"Stop with your observation right now!"

"OK, anyway I just wanted to say that our politicians exhibit common sense when in opposition, but they lose that common sense as soon as they enter any block, A to Z, on Constitution Avenue..."

"I don't think there is a Z block..."

"Well, at one point the Presidency was referred to as Z block when Zardari sahib..."

"Don't be facetious. But I would agree with you because just before the 2008 elections Zardari sahib's statements were extremely noteworthy but somehow once he entered Z block I can't think of any memorable statement and Khawaja Asif's speeches during the PPP's tenure were exemplary, he even won some landmark cases notably the IPPs case and the appointment case, and then his party won the elections and viola his statements deteriorated exponentially..."

"Hmmmmm."

"Placing a notable on the ECL has never kept the individual in the country."

"That's true, we have Musharraf, courtesy the PML-N; we have Nawaz Sharif courtesy The Khan, so really I can't imagine the ping pong team would feel threatened by Khawaja sahib's threat."

"I agree."
