PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Friday said that the Awami National Party (ANP) would soon convene All Parties Conference (APC) to consult all the stakeholders and representatives of all schools of thought for a joint strategy to curb the menace of terrorism and extremism.
Addressing a press conference here, he strongly condemned terrorist attacks on Thursday in Mingora, Quetta and Karachi and said that a strict action was needed against the terrorists.
"Terrorists have no religion, they are not even human beings," the minister said and added that extremism would have to be eliminated and the on-going war against terrorism and extremism would continue till its logical end.
"Keeping aside our emotions, we invite them on the table of dialogue for the sake of peace," he added.
Mian Iftikhar said that the ANP was in contact with all the political and religious parties over the issue and received a positive response from them. The party would soon convene an APC to consult representatives of all schools of thought to chalk out a joint strategy for curbing terrorism and extremism, he said.
He said that ANP central leader Asfand Yar Wali also met President Asif Ali Zardari the other day and took him into confidence over the APC meeting.
To a question, he said the time had come to rise above party politics and take joint decisions for long lasting peace and prosperity in the country.
He said that the general elections would be held on time.
