ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed on Saturday criticised Pakistan People's Party (PPP) over alleged 'politicizing' Ehsaas programme. In a press conference, the minister said the PPP failed to resolve the grievances of the people of Sindh specially Karachi.
He said the politics of Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari was confined to mere statements. Murad Saeed said the Sindh government should take steps for the welfare of the masses instead of [merely playing] opposition.
Reacting to the statement of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the federal minister for communications invited the PPP chairman to visit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and said he would show Bilawal what Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had achieved in the last seven years in KP.
Saeed challenged the PPP chairman that he should also show him the progress in Sindh during the PPP government. He said the PPP had done nothing for the betterment of the country and they did not want any other political party to work.
Saeed also blamed Bilawal of playing politics on Ehsaas programme. He said the allocation of funds in terms of poverty, the share of Sindh had been increased by 10 percent. He said Imran Khan is the prime minister of the whole country.
He said that the constituency from which Bilawal was elected was still not a developed area.
The federal minister further said that the prime minister visited the Ehsaas Program Center in Larkana, and prime minister will reach everywhere for those affected by coronavirus.
It was said the prime minister's visit to Sindh was political, he added. He further said PPP has not sympathized with the people of Sindh in this hour of need. The Ehsaas Cash programme has helped millions of people and rehabilitation of the poor and working class has been the top priority of the prime minister.
Saeed said Prime Minister Imran Khan was on a mission to eradicate poverty from the country. The Federal Minister for Communications said that there had been a serious water crisis in Sindh, and on the other hand, small farmers in Sindh had been harmed by locust attack.
The federal government has taken steps to eradicate locusts on emergency basis, he said. He further said that all the provinces had been taken on board in the meetings of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).
Criticizing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership, Saeed said the PML-N leadership had not built any quality hospital in their government. He said, "Those who have ruled the country for 70 years are getting treatment from abroad."
The federal minister said that Bilawal should not be a hindrance to the employment of the people of Sindh. Bilawal could not respond to the Rs5 trillion received in the field of health, minister added.
