(Karachi) At least 119 deaths have been reported across the country during 24 hours, media reported on Sunday. The death toll has reached 3,501 after new fatalities.

As per details, 4,951 new coronavirus cases have been reported in the country during the last 24 hours. The total tally of those affected due to the disease has reached 176,617.

The highest number of cases have been reported in Sindh with 67,353 cases followed by Punjab with 65,739 corona patients. Similarly, 21,444 cases surface in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 9,328 in Balochistan, 10,662 in Islamabad, 1,278 Gilgit-Baltistan and 813 in Azad Kashmir.

A total of 28,855 corona tests were carried out during the period, while 67,892 patients recovered from the disease so far.

Coronavirus cases are on the rise in Pakistan and it is feared that the virus will be at its peak in July. The government eased lockdown and restrictions to support economy that led to an alarming increase in number of Covid-19 cases in the country.

On June 11, Prime Minister Imran Khan warned the people and and business community of taking a strict action for violating the standard operations procedures (SOPs) issued by the government to stem the spread of Covid-19.

The PM said he would personally monitor the implementation of the SOPs and receive daily report from the provinces on coronavirus situation.
