tahir-ul-qadriKARACHI: Tehrik-e-Minhaj ul Quran (TMQ) chief Tahir-ul-Qadri has demanded the dissolution and reformation of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on the eve of the Long March toward the Islamabad, the media reported on Saturday.

Terming the ECP a product of a "deal" Qadri said that the first point of the charter of demand is to dissolve the commission, which should be formed anew.

The TMQ chief also said that only elections held under Articles 62, 63, and 218 of the Constitution will be acceptable.

During a press conference in Lahore today, the TMQ chief disclosed his seven-point charter of demand.

The TMQ chief said that no one can talk him out of the Long March on January 14, adding, the final dialogue will be held at the D-Square at Parliament House before the whole nation.

He also claimed that hundreds of people approached him to stop him from the march, but said, nothing can deter him from going through with it.

According to details, the march will start from Data Darbar in Lahore and end at Bari Imam in Islamabad.

It may be mentioned that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had announced to participate in the Long March but opted out of it yesterday. On the other hand, the cleric of Golara Shareef has also refused to lend support to Qadri, adding that he only wants a stint in the federal government.

However, the TMQ leader said that he is holding the march not to join the government but to eradicate injustice in Pakistan.
