ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Samsam Bukhari on Wednesday said that Tahir-ul-Qadri's claims to bring four million marchers in long march proved erroneous as he could not bring even one milion participants.
"Chief of Tehrik-e-Minhaj-ul-Quran (TMQ) has failed to fulfill his claims as number of people present in his rally are far less than the exaggerated figure that he claimed earlier," the minister said while talking to private news channel.
He said Tahirul Qadri's demands are unconstitutional. He said Tahirul Qadri wants dissolution of Election Commission, and installation of caretaker set up according to his will.
He said the Constitution has laid down the mechanism for setting up a caretaker government.
He said that attempts to harm democratic system would be foiled.
He said Tahirul Qadri should register his party and participate in the elections if he wanted reform in the system.
He said demands of Tahirul Qadri were not in line with the constitutional provisions.
