KARACHI: Tehreek-e-Taliban has claimed responsibility for attack on MQM MPA Manzar Imam, the media reported on Thursday.
Sindh Assembly member Manzar Imam including his three security guards were killed in firing in Orangi Town earlier today.
Shops and markets closed down as a wave of fear grippped the city following the news of the MPA's death.
According to reports, the incident occured at the Nishan-e-Haider Chowk when Imam and his three security guards were gunned by unkown men on motorcyles.
Sindh Traders' Association announced that no one will open their businesses for fear of escalation in the the law and order situation on Friday.
A bus was set on fire on Abul-Hassan Isphani road and another in Orangi Town and Safoora Chowrangi.
Keeping the law and order situation in mind, the Transport Ittehad has also announced that there will be no vehicles plying the road on Friday.
