ISLAMABAD,Director General ISPR Major General Athar Abbas says Afghan based terrorists are behind instability in Bajaur and Mohmand agencies.
According to Radio Pakistan, he endorsed the statement of Corps Commander Peshawar in which he has talked about foreign intervention in tribal areas of Pakistan.
General Athar Abbas said Islamabad has informed Afghan officials about the activities of the terrorists on their soil and Pakistan has identified the areas especially Kunar where terrorists have their hideouts.
Instability in Bajaur and Mohmand agencies and other areas bordering Afghanistan is due to activities of terrorists, who flee to Afghanistan after carrying out subversive activities, he said
To a question, DG ISPR said Pakistan has provided information to the Afghan government regarding activities of terrorists on its soil but the interference is still continuing.
He added, Pakistan has repeatedly raised issue of cross border infiltration at the tripartite commission platform but no solid step has been taken to stop it.
