kamran-faisalKARACHI: A senior official of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) official, Kamran Faisal, involved in investigating corruption charges against Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf was found dead at his home in Islamabad, the media reported on Friday.

Earlier, Kamran’s body was brought to his hometown Mian Chunnu soon after the autopsy.

According to details, the NAB official was under extreme pressure following the Supreme Court’s renewed its interest in the Rental Power Projects (RPPs) scam, which has been going on for several years.

Faisal and another colleague, Asghar Khan, were suspended from the NAB after they submitted their report in the scandal to higher authorities.

As part of its judgment on Tuesday, the apex court criticised NAB chairman Fasih Bokhari for removing Faisal and Khan from the case.

In a television interview, Faisal’s father insisted his son had nerves of steel and could not have committed suicide.

He demanded justice and urged the Supreme Court to take immediate action against the death of his son.
