shahrukh-jatoiKARACHI: A medical report has declared Shahrukh Jatoi, the main accused in the murder of 20-year old Shahzeb Khan, to be under-18, the media reported on Tuesday. 

 

According to the media, since Jatoi is under 18 years of age his case will be transferred to a juvenile court or session’s court.

 

The police surgeon’s office in Karachi on Monday upon court orders carryied out X-rays of different parts of his body and declared Jatoi under age.

 

Tests were carried out under the supervision of Police Surgeon Dr. Jalil.

 

The report will be presented in Anti-terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday.

 

It may be mentioned that two witnesses identified Jatoi as the alleged main accused when he was presented in the identification parade before Judicial Magistrate Waqar Ahmed Soomro in the ATC today.

 

"Social media and the media have highlighted me so much that identifying me isn't difficult, admitted Jatoi, after he was presented before the judicial magistrate in the City Court today.

 

In their statement, the witnesses said that the car overturned after Shahrukh fired upon the vehicle.

 

Jatoi fired at the vehicle again after it had overturned, they said further in their statement.

 

Jatoi told the court that both witnesses had met him at the Boat Basin precinct.

 

The main accused in the case was flown in to Karachi from Abu Dhabi on January 17, with the Senior Superintendent of Sindh Police (SSP) Niaz Ahmed Khoso assigned with the task of arresting Jatoi.

According to sources, the flight Jatoi was in landed at Terminal 1, used for Haj flights, instead of the main Jinnah Terminal.

He, including three others accused in the case were handed over to police for a seven-day remand

The accused was then taken to Police Headquarters in Karachi's Garden area via an armored personnel carrier (APC) amid strict security.

It may be mentioned that Jatoi surrendered himself at the Pakistani Consulate in Dubai, the media reported on January 14.
