IGP for enhanced security on Friday
KARACHI: The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, has called for enhanced security arrangements in the province for Friday.
A police statement here Thursday said that the IGP directed that extra-ordinary security measures be taken on the occasion.
Leghari instructed that there should be extra deployment at the central mosques and Imambargahs as well as the Juma congregations.
He also called for making more effective the intelligence-sharing system and enhanced action against the absconders and proclaimed offenders.
The IGP also called for increasing patrolling on the main highways, crime-affected areas as well as carrying out random snap checking besides surveillance at the entry and exit points.
He directed that security be also increased at public places, shopping centres, parks, government and semi-government buildings, commercial and business centres and that there be also deployment of plain-clothed policemen.
