KSE 100 Index reaches historic 18,000-point mark

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange's benchmark 100-share index on Friday closed above 18,000-point level for the first time in the country’s history.

The KSE 100-share index reached the 18,083.94 mark over positive investor sentiment on reports that the Supreme Court of Pakistan annulled a decision of the Lahore High Court which had stopped collection of tax on incoming international calls.

Healthy corporate earnings this season have also helped keep the market buoyant.
