Assemblies completing their term for first time in country's history

KARACHI: Speaker, Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that the assemblies will be completing their 5-year constitutional period for the first time in the history of Pakistan.

He said it is the time of pride for all of us and we will celebrate this historic moment in a befitting manner.

Talking to newsmen here on Friday, he said that various programmes have been prepared to celebrate the last 15 days of this historic occasion.

Giving details about these programmes, the Speaker SA said that photo session of the members of the Sindh assembly (MPAs) will be held on March 5, media persons' visit has been arranged on March 4 while the people belonging to different walk of life including intellectuals will be given a chance to witness proceeding of the assembly on March 6.

Women delegation will visit the assembly on March 8 on the occasion of World Women's Day, students will visit on March 13 while the notables of the province will visit the assembly on March 15.

The detailed 5-year report about the performance of this assembly will be launched on March 7, he added.

To a question, the Sindh Assembly Speaker hoped that the issue of nomination of opposition leader in Sindh Assembly will be resolved soon. "We are not responsible for delay in this respect", the Speaker added.
