CALGARY: TransCanada Corp said its 590,000 barrel a day Keystone oil pipeline between Canada and the US midcontinent region was shut down briefly on Wednesday due to a power outage, but flows have resumed.
"The utility issue was resolved quickly and everything is running normally," TransCanada spokesman Shawn Howard said in an email.
The pipeline, which is the first phase of the company's Keystone network, extends to southern Illinois and Cushing, Oklahoma, from Hardisty, Alberta. It has been in service since 2010.
