ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary Information Shafqat Mahmood has taken strong exception to the media reports about a statement by IGP Sindh alleging that nine target killers had been arrested in Karachi who he were allegedly associated with the PTI.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Shafqat Mahmood termed the statement a figment of imagination of the IGP Sindh perhaps to malign the popularity of the PTI ahead of March 23 Jalsa.
He said that no other politician but the PTI Chief Imran Khan had taken a principled stance against militant wings of certain political parties and he had called upon the people of Karachi not to vote to such political parties who owned militant wings.
"There are over seven million members of the PTI across country. The IGP should tell whether those arrested were office-bearers of the PTI? We don't own any militant or a militant wing. We have always raised our voice against militants and violence. We should not be clubbed with any militant", he added.
Shafqat Mahmood said that if any individual had claimed relationship with the PTI, the law enforcers should strongly move against him under the law.
"Full force should be used against any criminal claiming to be associated with the PTI. We disown any individual who has criminal record or intent as we are for supremacy of the rule of law", he maintained.
