PESHAWAR: A local leader of Awami National Party (ANP), Farooq Khan Wednesday sustained minor injuries when his car was targeted with a remote controlled bomb in Sardheri area of Charsadda, police said.
According to initial reports, ANP leader Farooq Khan was on his way for election campaigning in Sardheri area when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near his car.
Farooq Khan sustained minor injuries in the attack. Further details were yet to be ascertained.
Earlier, on Tuesday evening 16 people including policemen were killed and more than 50 were wounded in a suicide bomb blast at an ANP corner meeting in Yakatoot area, Peshawar.
