PESHAWAR: A freelance journalist, Arif Shafee died in the suicide bomb attack on University road here on Monday.
According to a press release of Khyber Union of Journalist (KhUJ) and Peshawar Press Club, the ill-fated journalist is among the victims of the blast which claimed eight precious lives and injured more than 40 persons.
It merits a mention here that Arif Shafee is the 17th journalist from KP and FATA who fell victim to the ongoing wave of terrorism.
The president and general secretary of PPC, Nasir Hussain and Muhammad Yousaf, respectively, while strongly condemning killing of Arif Shafee have demanded of the government to take serious steps for providing security to journalists.
