wheatSIALKOT: As many as nine official wheat procurement centers have been established in Sialkot district for purchasing the wheat yield direct from the growers and farmers under the supervision of provincial government.

District Food Controller (DFC) Sialkot Habibur Rehman stated this while talking to the media on Tuesday.

He said that two official wheat procurement centers have been established in Sialkot tehsil, four in Pasrur tehsil, two in Daska tehsil and one in Sambrial tehsil to facilitate the growers through ensuring the smooth and direct supply from the growers and farmers curbing the dealers and middlemen.

He said that as many as 72,000 matric tons of wheat would be purchased in Sialkot district during this season.

Habibur Rehman added that the supply of gunny bags to the growers would start from Wednesday while; the official procurement would be start from Friday.

He said as many as 200 gunny bags would be given to each grower.

He revealed that the clean and dust-free wheat would be purchased at the official wheat procurement centers, where all the necessary arrangements have been made to facilitate the growers by providing them maximum facilities, enabling them to transport their yield to these official centers.
