QUETTA: Unknown men blew up a portion of railway track in Sariab area of the provincial capital on Monday disconnecting the rail link of Quetta with other parts of the country.
Police said that unidentified men attached Improvised Explosive Device with railway track in Musa Colony Sariab area and detonated it.
"As a result of explosion, a portion of railway track was damaged," police said adding that the blast caused suspension of railway traffic from and towards Quetta. No loss of life was reported.
The Pakistan Railways officials said that the technical teams have reached the site and the repairing work of the affected track has been initiated.
The law enforcement personnel have put a cordon around the area and launched search operation to trace the suspects.
Further investigation was in process.
