ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Justice (R) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso Friday termed the death of Sanaullah, a Pakistani national jailed in Indian Occupied Kashmir, as tragic and most unfortunate.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan and on my own behalf I would like to express my heartfelt sympathies with his family and pray to the Almighty to grant Sanaullah peace in the hereafter and give strength to his family to bear this irreparable loss,” said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister said that as a gesture of support and to give strength to Sanaullah’s heirs, a financial assistance to the tune of Rs.1 million had already been approved. He said that the Government of Punjab would provide a job to Sanaullah’s elder son and bear educational expenses of his younger son in addition to a financial assistance of Rs5 lakh, besides a house to the family of Sanaullah.
“I would like to reiterate to the Prime Minister of India that the serious matter of ensuring safety and security of Pakistani prisoners be addressed in a humane spirit and steps taken so that such brutal atrocities do not recur,” said the Prime Minister.
“Both Pakistan and India should ensure timely and effective implementation of established mechanisms between our two countries to address the issue of prisoners which is a humanitarian one and should be addressed in that manner,” stressed the Prime Minister.
