imageQUETTA: At least two persons were killed and 18 others including 12 police personnel were injured in a suicide bomb blast on Zarghoon road of the provincial capital late Sunday night.

Police sources said that a bomb laden vehicle struck against the wall of the official residence of Inspector General Police Balochistan Mushtaq Sukhera and exploded with a big bang.

"As a result of the blast, two people were killed and 18 others injured," police said. The rescue teams and law enforcement agencies personnel rushed to the site and shifted the dead and injured to the hospital.

The windowpanes of several government premises and other buildings including media organizations were smashed in the blast.

The four-story building of Quetta Press Club was also damaged. A journalist sitting inside the press club received injuries.

The injured also included children who received wounds when windowpanes of their houses smashed due to blast.

The law enforcement personnel including Frontier Corps and Police have cordoned off the entire area to trace the suspects.

Further probe was underway.
