imageQUETTA: Former nazim Quetta Muhammad Aslam Rind has said that the provincial capital has been facing acute scarcity of potable water after WASA has switched off its several tube-wells.

In a statement issued, here on Saturday, he said: "About three million population of the metropolis is suffering difficulties due to non-supply of water to them by Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) as the department had switched off its several tube-wells or not paying attention to get the tube-wells repaired those had gone out of order."

He said that people of Quetta have been left at the mercy of tanker mafia in the time of sky-rocketing price hike when poor people could not afford to purchase water from tanker mafia.
