OSLO: Norwegian pipeline gas exports edged higher on Tuesday morning on a slight increase in flows to Britain, while supplies to other markets were broadly stable.
Deliveries to Europe including Britain were up to 263 million cubic metres (mcm) by 0845 GMT versus an average of 259 mcm on Monday.
Flows to Britain, Europe's biggest traded gas market, inched up by 4 mcm to 46 mcm as higher supplies through the Langeled pipeline more than offset a loss in deliveries after the Vesterled pipeline was shut due to maintenance.
Combined supplies to Germany and the Netherlands were steady at 137 mcm, and exports to France and Belgium were also broadly stable at 43 mcm and 37 mcm respectively.
Norwegian gas output was expected to be reduced by 54 mcm per day due to field maintenance from Tuesday until July 12, Gassco said.
The maintenance was likely affecting output from the country's biggest gas field, Troll, which previously had its production cut by 40 mcm per day since April 1, analysts at Point Carbon, a Thomson Reuters company, said.
Maintenance was also underway at the Ormen Lange field from May 23 until June 2, reducing the output by up to 40 mcm per day.
Norway's export figures are based on gas fed into the system at a certain time and calculated to a daily average. Volumes can vary throughout the day as producers adjust the amount of gas they pump.
