ISLAMABAD: There is an increase of 2.66 per cent in export of surgical goods amounting to US$ 18.19 million during last nine months of the current financial year (July-2010 to March -2011) to that in the corresponding period of last financial year.According to the Federal Bureau of Statistic (FBS), the export of surgical goods was recorded US$ 17.72 million from July-2009 to March -2010).During the period under review, cutlery goods of about 64.119 million have been exported showing an increase of 37.91 per cent as against US$ 46.49 million of the same period of last year.
Meanwhile, the export of electronic fans is increased by 26.39 per cent during the period from July 2010 to March 2011 as about 1,348 thousand units worth US$ 27.8 million exported.
The export of fans was recorded at 1,100 thousand units with a total cost of US$ 22.0 million during the first nine months of last financial year.
However, gems exported witnessed negative growth as it export was decreased by 53.85 percent where as the export of furniture posted 38.14 percent growth during the period under review.
Furniture worth US$ 8.83 million exported during last nine months of current year as compared to US$ 5.9 million of same period of last corresponding year.
