ISLAMABAD: Leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Khurram Dastagir Khan on Friday stressed the need to resolve key disputes between India and Pakistan for forming friendly relations.
Kashmir, Siachen, Sir Creek and water issues need to be resolved to ensure peace in the region, he added.
Talking to a private TV channel, he said that the PML-N-led government was committed to form good relations with all immediate neighboring countries, adding that maintaining good relations with India was a challenge for the new government.
He, however, appreciated the former regimes of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Pervez Musharaf for making attempt to formulate trade ties with India. The India did not ever respond positively, he said.
Replying to a question, he urged to take steps for quieting foreign funding to the militants to maintain peace and tranquility in the country.
Khurram was of the view that the government was working diligently to annihilate terrorism from Pakistan.
Replying to another query, the leader of PML-N appreciated the Supreme Court decision of sentenced to death to the influential culprits in Shazaib murder case. The law should be equal for every one, he maintained.
He stressed to bring reforms in investigation institutions of the country to ensure fair proceedings of the cases. Prosecution process and police system need to be improve, he said.
